This album was scheduled for release in Mid-November 1994, the year of Doc's 80th birthday. His voice was vibrant and strong, perhaps because of his lifetime dedication to good health habits. It's pure country at its best.

Doc strongly believes in family values and moderation in all things. We believe these lifetime values are expressed in the song selection Doc made. That is why we decided to title this album "FAMILY VALUES PURE COUNTRY." We dedicate this album to families yet to be formed, in the hope that they will be strong, loving, lasting units for a strong, lasting USA. For strong families make a strong nation.
